Meols
Meols is a small village community that is situated between Hoylake and Moreton. There is a promenade that stretches both to Hoylake and Moreton. For sailing enthusiasts there is a boat slipway near to Bennets lane and the coastguard station, with another being almost opposite Queens Park.
The Meols park is situated behind The Railway Inn pub near to the Great Meols Club Pavilion and premises which incorporates a Bowling Green.
Meols Park comprises of a Lower and Upper Green with a football kickabout pitch and childrens play area. The play area has been completely transformed after a newly formed friends of meols park group took up the big challenge and held numerous funraising activities and grant applications. The group was constituted in Oct 2007 and the Park Play Area project was completed and reopened in record time on 1st July 2009.
There are a few shops near to the Meols Merseyrail station. Meols is a popular place for campers and caravans with there being two sites located off Park Lane.
Horse riders also abound in plenty due to the many bridleways especially through the sandhills behind the promenade
The Meols local shops are located in Station Approach, close to the Meols Merseyrail station at the bottom of Cleveley and Derwent Roads.
McColl's store, sells Newspapers, Mags,Food, Sweets and anything else that you may have forgotten to buy in the weekly shop.
Simply Drinks is as the name suggests, is the local off licence.
Something in Store sells gifts,cards and plants.
Regal is the local chippy, where Connie always wears a big smile and does some lovely grub
Severns Restaurant is a small and cosy restaurant with bar.
The last shop in the parade is a Pharmacy and is due to open in the summer of 2006.
Carr Farm Gardencentre, is located on Birkenhead Road (Meols Stretch)

Welcome to the Information Website about the North West Resorts of Hoylake, West Kirby and Meols on the Wirral Peninsula.
Hoylake was home to the 2006 British Open where Tiger Woods won the 135th British Open Championship at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club on Meols Drive.
These seaside villages are located at the northern tip of the Wirral Peninsula.
Hoylake,West Kirby & Meols are blessed with miles of beaches, promenades, Parks,Bowling Greens, Tennis,Golf, Horse Riding,Windsurfing and Sailing on the salt water Marine Lake and Sand Yachting. On a clear day, one can see the Blackpool Tower on the horizon.
Take a stroll along the promenades and watch the local fishermen at work.
The Wirral area is known as the "Leisure Peninsula" it being surrounded on three sides by water, the Irish Sea, the River Mersey and the River Dee.
The Viking settlers landed their boats here in 902AD and their influence is still evident. Liverpool the European Capital of Culture 2008 is only a twenty minute drive away or 30 minutes by the Mersey Rail Electric Railway.
The Roman city of Chester and the beauty of North Wales being 30 mins drive away.
